Nine "inner Cities" Will Appear In Minsk

Details.

At the meeting of Minsk City Executive Committee on September 25, the city leadership discussed plans for urban planning and infrastructure development. The development of Minsk in the future will be carried out according to a balanced and systematic strategy, writes the agency "Minsk-Novosti".

Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev noted that Minsk is a compact city, so all new developments should be planned very carefully to comply with the legislation and the existing structure of the city.

Special attention will be paid not only to the central districts, but also to the outskirts, as well as to the construction of housing in satellite towns, creation of necessary infrastructure and analysis of territories for new facilities - both residential, administrative and industrial.

Chairman of the Committee of Architecture and Urban Planning Viktor Gutko emphasized that the general plan of the city provides for the preservation of the population of Minsk at the level of two million people. In order to restrain the growth of the city, the strategy of agglomeration formation together with satellite cities is being implemented.

The development of the city will be based on the division of Minsk into nine large districts, which can be perceived as "inner cities".

Each district will house public service facilities, recreation areas, sports grounds, cultural and entertainment centers, as well as workplaces.

It is planned that the territory of the city will slightly increase - by about 3.3 thousand hectares, up to 38.1 thousand hectares, and the population will increase by 25-30 thousand people.

The main changes are planned in the northern and northern districts of the city, as well as in the northern part of the city. The main changes are planned in the northern and eastern sectors of the city.

In the northern sector the investment project "Severny Bereg" is currently being implemented, and in the eastern sector there will be new residential areas near the agro-town Kolodishchi and in the Zeleny Bor massif. The construction of the necessary social infrastructure for the new districts is also envisaged, and the development of industrial zones will be carried out in modern forms: technology parks, research and production associations and developed service infrastructure.

The development of the transport system of Minsk will continue. Transit traffic flows will be withdrawn from the third city ring, instead two semi-ring highways with the parameters of city avenues will be built. This will allow to increase the area of parks and embankments. It is planned to build the third subway line and design the fourth one, as well as to increase transportation by rail through the station "Minsk-Passazhirsky".

The city continues to create modern bicycle lanes, which will run near the main areas of mass attraction of people.
