Bloomberg: Europeans Secretly Warned Moscow They Would Shoot Down Their Planes

With full force.

After Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated Estonian airspace, a closed-door meeting was held in Moscow where European diplomats warned the Russians that they would shoot down Russian Armed Forces aircraft if necessary.

Russian representatives who were at the meeting, even though the conversations were kept confidential, denied that their planes violated Estonian airspace, writes Bloomberg.

"European diplomats warned the Kremlin Kremlin officials explained that operations in Crimea would not have been possible without NATO support, and as a result, Russia believes it has already entered into a confrontation with European countries.

The officials said the Russian side took detailed notes during the conversation, leading the European delegation to assume that they had been instructed to provide a detailed report on NATO's position to the high command.

A German government spokesman confirmed to reporters that the meeting had taken place and that the ambassadors had told Moscow that the incursions must stop.
