Including the sale of military equipment.
Russian Federation is helping China with preparations for an attack on Taiwan. We are talking about the sale of military equipment and large-scale exercises for the Chinese airborne troops.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The Washington Post.
In particular, the documents, which have been independently verified by the British think tank Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), indicate a deepening alliance between Moscow and Beijing.
The Russian Federation is using its combat experience to conduct training of Chinese airborne units and armored vehicle landing training. Analysts say this will strengthen Beijing's ability to seize Taiwan.
"In a future war over Taiwan, Moscow's supply of oil, gas and other natural resources, as well as its large defense industry, could become a 'strategic reserve for China,'" said Jack Watling, senior fellow for land warfare at RUSI.
The agreement between China and the Russian Federation
The documents, which are laid out in 800 pages, show that in October 2024, the Russian Federation agreed to sell China a lot of military equipment. At issue are 37 BMD-4M light amphibious vehicles, 11 Sprut-SDM1 self-propelled anti-tank guns and 11 BTR-MDM airborne armored personnel carriers.
The main contract called for the transfer of command and observation vehicles and special parachute systems designed to drop heavy loads from high altitudes.
Documents show several rounds of negotiations, including a meeting in Beijing in April 2024, at which China asked Russia to accelerate the delivery dates for certain vehicles.
There was also talk of adapting weapons to make them compatible with Chinese software, electronic, radio and navigation systems.
Separate documents outline programs to train Chinese paratroopers in the combat use of weapons, as well as command and control systems used to direct operations.
The Kremlin did not respond to a request for comment on the agreement. In addition, neither China's Defense Ministry nor the state defense contractors involved in the deals responded to such requests.
China Arms Deliveries
The leaders of China and Russian Federation have attended each other's military parades over the past year. Their armed forces have conducted 14 joint exercises in 2024, double the number of the previous 10 years.
Last week, representatives of the Chinese armed forces attended the Russian-Belarusian military exercise Zapad-2025, where the Russian Federation demonstrated heavy equipment landings that China seeks to replicate.
Russian customs records from June 18, 2024, show a transfer of "military products" to the state-owned China Electronics Technology Group (CETC). The sender is the Russian Research Institute for Communication and Control Systems.
WP states that Moscow has long been Beijing's largest arms supplier, although Russian arms imports to China have declined in recent years due to the war in Ukraine. At the same time, China has improved its own designs and production capacity.
Despite this, Chinese official military publications continue to regularly praise Russia's advanced airborne capabilities.
One of the largest consumers of Russian weapons is the Chinese Air Force. Since 2005, they have purchased dozens of Il-76 aircraft, heavy transport planes that can be used to drop armored vehicles during an air offensive.
