The US President is also ready to supply Kiev with long-range missiles.
U.S. President Donald Trump told Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at a meeting with him at the United Nations on Sept. 23 that he was open to lifting restrictions on Kiev's use of long-range weapons to strike Russian territory, The Wall Street Journal wrote, citing sources.
In a behind-the-scenes conversation at the UN, Zelensky asked Trump to increase the number of long-range missiles supplied and allow their use to strike targets inside Russia Trump responded that he was not opposed to the idea, although two of the Journal's sources said the U.S. leader had made no commitment to lift the U.S. ban on such attacks.
The White House is considering supplying those missiles and other long-range weapons to Ukraine, according to senior U.S. and European officials briefed on the discussions, the WSJ indicated.
