The conditions for receiving some benefits are changing.
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has signed a law that tightens the procedure for payment of child allowance 800+ for foreigners, including Belarusians. Now the payments will directly depend on the parents' employment, writes RMF FM.
The 800+ allowance in Poland is a monthly payment of 800 zlotys, or about $200, for each of the children up to 18 years old.
Reminder, the law establishes certain requirements for the payment of the allowance: to receive this amount, a foreigner must earn at least half of the minimum wage in the country. In 2025, it is 2333 zlotys (about 640 dollars) gross.
The exception is made for parents of children with disabilities: if the child has a Polish certificate of disability allowance will be paid regardless of the professional status of the parent.
Not working in Poland foreigners lose the right to medical rehabilitation and a number of medical services. Compliance with the law will be monitored by the ZUS (social insurance fund), which checks monthly labor activity and decides whether to pay the benefit or suspend it.
In addition, the law signed by Nawrocki extends temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees, but it will be valid only until March 2026.
