"Friend Of Lukashenko" Is Preparing To Attack Inside The Country

Washington is already planning strikes.

The US is preparing for new tough actions against the regime of "Lukashenko's friend" Nicolas Maduro.

According to NBC News, citing four sources in the US administration and military circles, in the coming weeks there may be strikes directly on the territory of Venezuela.

These are targeted drone attacks on drug trafficking groups and their laboratories. In recent weeks, U.S. forces have already struck three Venezuelan-linked vessels suspected of transporting drugs.

President Donald Trump has publicly stated that the measures are aimed at protecting U.S. citizens from the flow of cocaine and fentanyl. Although no evidence of drugs was presented on each of the vessels, banned substances were indeed found in the water after one of the strikes.

Sources say the increased pressure is due to Maduro's reluctance to cut off drug trafficking. Washington accuses his regime of cooperating with cartels that smuggle drugs and gang members to the US.

The US Justice Department indicted Maduro as early as 2020 and recently increased the reward for his capture to $50 million. Amid possible military operations, the Pentagon has moved eight ships and about four thousand troops to the region, including F-35 fighter jets stationed in Puerto Rico.

Sources said such a large-scale presence cannot remain unused and requires concrete solutions. The White House has made no secret of its tough stance.

An administration official emphasized, according to NBC News: "Trump is ready to use all possibilities of American power to stop the flow of drugs and bring the perpetrators to justice."

At the same time, part of the president's team favors diplomatic pressure. With the help of Middle East mediators, talks are underway with Maduro, who is seeking concessions to retain power. However, senior U.S. officials doubt that concessions are possible: the administration considers Maduro's regime illegitimate.
