What's Really Going On With MAZ

The truth is far from the ruler's bravura speeches.

"The machine-building industry is one of the most important for the Belarusian economy, providing jobs for tens of thousands of residents of the republic. The products, which come off the domestic assembly lines, are in demand in all corners of the globe," reads Lukashenko's message of congratulations to machine-building workers on their professional holiday.

It's clear that no one will talk about sad things in the congratulatory telegram. But the fact is that the real situation with "demand in all corners of the globe" is very far from the bravura speeches of the ruler, writes "Salidarnasts".

So far that even he himself in other circumstances does not really try to hide the complexity of the situation. The problem is that the countries where our tractors, trucks and buses are in demand, as a rule, cannot pay for them.

And Russia, which has become the main market for Belarusian products, has presented official Minsk with an unpleasant surprise.

- The biggest problem in Belarus today is to replace the volume that we can't sell today due to certain objective reasons in Russia," openly admits the one who recently sincerely rejoiced at the opportunity to make money on someone else's war.

The results of sales of buses and trucks of Minsk Automobile Plant in January-August this year only added to pessimism. As a result, the Belarusian car fleets are watching the ride of unprecedented generosity, receiving unsold buses in Russia.

The main problem is that Lukashenko, apparently, is ready to blame everyone for what is happening - from the relevant officials to the head of the government, who "can't cope" with pushing the products to the countries of the far arc and to Russia.

But not himself, who "preserved" the Soviet industrial heritage and Soviet methods of management - both production and the country.
