Powerful Cauldron: AFU Encircles 1,500 Russians

The Kremlin's plans have been thwarted.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces may drive about 1,500 Russian soldiers into a cauldron in the Dobropillya region. They have already managed to de-occupy seven settlements there.

In order not to get into an operational encirclement, the Russians are trying to pull up their own reserves, military and political analyst Dmitry Snegirev said in a commentary to the FREEDOM TV channel.

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting a number of counter-offensives, which indicate the possibility of creating an operational encirclement for Russian soldiers. Up to 1,500 Russian servicemen could end up in a possible cauldron. To prevent the Ukrainian Defense Forces from closing this cauldron, the Russian occupants are trying to make counter-strikes, as well as pulling up their reserves," Snegirev said.

He specified that the situation in the Dobropillya direction is stabilizing, and the AFU units have already de-occupied seven settlements, resulting in the liberation of about 180 square kilometers of territory.

Snegirev said that Ukrainian defenders also have tactical successes in the Pokrovsk area, in particular, two villages - Novoekonomicheskoye and Udachnoye - have been liberated, which prevents the occupants from taking control of the Pokrovsk-Pavlograd highway.

"The successful counter-offensive in the Pokrovsk direction, and this strike was ahead of schedule, made it possible to thwart the plans of the Russian occupants to redeploy operational reserves to the Novopavlovsk direction in order to make a breakthrough deep into the Dnipropetrovsk region. That is, the Pokrovsko-Dobropolskoye direction also foiled the enemy's plans to expand the geography of the theater of military operations at the expense of the Dnipropetrovsk region," the analyst explained.

He stressed that the daily losses of the Russian Armed Forces in both directions of the front range from 500 to 700 soldiers.

"The plans of the Russian political leadership to use the Russian offensive on this section of the front as an element of political pressure on both the United States and Ukraine have been foiled. This is what allowed the Ukrainian president to say that after his meeting with Trump, the United States has revised its attitude to the nature of the fighting in Ukraine, particularly in the Pokrovsky direction. In many respects, the change in Trump's rhetoric is connected precisely with the successful actions of the Ukrainian army in this direction," Snehyrev emphasized.
