The country's authorities have prepared for such a scenario.
On Sunday, September 28, Moldova is holding parliamentary elections. At the same time, reports have emerged that a number of foreign polling stations were allegedly "mined".
The Moldovan Foreign Ministry reported this in Facebook.
"The mine warnings started exactly as the authorities had previously warned that it would happen as part of the Russian Federation's interference in the electoral process in Moldova," the publication said.
The ministry said the Moldovan authorities had prepared for such a scenario and were cooperating with other countries so that "the electoral process would not be affected."
"Election observation cameras located at polling stations are functioning and are monitoring the electoral instruments to ensure that they remain intact until the resumption of voting," the Moldovan Foreign Ministry wrote.
The ministry also urged all citizens of the country to heed the recommendations of the authorities, official information and continue voting fairly.
We should remind that in today's elections in Moldova the main competition is expected between the ruling party "Action and Solidarity" (PAS) and the Patriotic Bloc, which includes socialists, communists, as well as the parties "Heart of Moldova" and "Future of Moldova".
The day before, Moldovan President Maya Sandu said that Russia would try to influence the result of the parliamentary elections in the country.
