European Commissioner Kos, Responsible For Enlargement, Arrived In Ukraine For A Three-day Visit

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos has arrived in Ukraine on a three-day visit and is starting it with Transcarpathia, the European Commission's press service reported.
Marta Kos arrived on a visit "to reaffirm the EU's support for the country's European path and to mark the completion of the screening process for EU accession."
On the first day of her visit on Monday, the European Commissioner will visit schools for the Hungarian and Slovak minority in Transcarpathia and meet with representatives of the Council of National Minorities of Ukraine to discuss Ukraine's recent steps in this area, in particular the Action Plan for National Minorities adopted in May.
The European Commissioner will also look at the newly built Eurocole.
On Tuesday, September 30, Kos is scheduled to hold meetings on decentralization reform with representatives of regional authorities, participate in the Ukrainian Sustainability Week program, visit the Unbroken rehabilitation center and an EU-funded housing project for IDPs and veterans, and meet with representatives of civil society.
On Wednesday, Kos will be in Kyiv to discuss the European integration reform agenda with representatives of the Ukrainian government and Verkhovna Rada.
Meetings with representatives of Ukraine's anti-corruption authorities are also scheduled.
