U.S. President Donald Trump reacted to the incident involving European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen's plane, which made an emergency landing in Bulgaria due to Russia jamming its GPS signal.

"Well, she had an interesting event. She's a remarkable woman. NATO is concerned about it, I think we both are," Trump said.

At the same time, he noted that "nobody knows" what caused the European Commission chief's plane's GPS to stop working.

"But they took away her ability to use her phone. You know, sometimes that's a good thing. If that ever happened to me, I'd be happy," the US president added.

We will recall that on September 1, the plane of the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen emergency landed in Bulgaria.

The cause was Russian interference, which led to a GPS malfunction on the plane. The pilot was forced to land using paper maps.

At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov assured that Russia was allegedly not involved in the incident.
