Economist: Belarus Will Raise The Retirement Age For Women

The solution is already "on the table."

This opinion was voiced by economist Lev Lvovsky in the broadcast of the program "Belarus 2030," reports "Euroradio".

The deficit of the Federal Pension Fund continues to grow in the country, and this hole must be reduced somehow. The previous increase in the retirement age to 60 for women and 63 for men took place in 2016 for the same reasons.

"Now is the time when new plans, a new project to increase the retirement age is lying, if not on the table, then somewhere in the top drawer of that very table," says the economist.

Lvovsky warns: in the near future, the retirement age may be raised for women - equalize it with the male. It will turn out that both sexes will retire at 63.

"Until 2030, this situation will be saved. But I hope that Belarus will live after 2030, and after 2050, and for a long time to come. And the further, the more problems with demography, with people," warns the economist.
