Ukraine Launches "military Amazon"

Drones and equipment reach the front in two weeks.

Ukraine has introduced a new military procurement system that allows commanders to directly order the equipment they need, from drones to REB equipment. Such a "military Amazon" has replaced the Soviet centralized system and significantly accelerated the supply of the front, writes CEPA (translated by Charter97.org).

Drones have become the main driver of the changes. They inflict up to 80% of losses on the enemy and have become a key tool of war. The rapidly changing situation on the front lines demanded equally rapid deliveries. Now brigades receive up to $650,000 a month, regiments about $385,000.In just six months, the program has distributed $312 million.

Colonel Pavel Palisa, who is in charge of the reform, says the effectiveness of units in destroying targets has increased by 40%. "Before, we used to modify the drones ourselves, it took months. Now new models arrive in 10-15 days," said the commander of the unmanned systems battalion Vladimir Shchur.

The new supply model allows fighters not only to receive equipment faster, but also to directly pass remarks to manufacturers, which speeds up technology upgrades. This is especially important for electronic warfare equipment, which becomes obsolete in a matter of months.

The success of the program has led to an expanded list of categories available for direct purchase, from drones and REBs to vehicles, which are targets of attacks every day. It has also given a boost to Ukraine's defense industry, which is focused on developing attack and maritime drones, ground robots and reconnaissance systems.

While Kiev continues to purchase ammunition, artillery and armored vehicles centrally. Experts believe that Ukraine's experience is valuable for NATO - it demonstrates that speed and flexibility in supply are more important than cumbersome military bureaucracies.
