The money will come from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation.
The European Union will allocate about 2 billion euros to Ukraine to develop drone production using proceeds from frozen Russian assets, European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said, The Guardian reported.
"If we continue to see Ukraine as our first line of defense, we need to increase military aid," she said.
On September 26, Politico reported that the European Commission has proposed sending 140 billion euros to Ukraine in the format of a "reparation loan" using frozen Russian assets. And on September 17, the Financial Times wrote about the EU's plans to use frozen assets to secure loans for Kiev worth up to 170 billion euros.
