The U.S. president advised the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council not to throw words around.
US President Donald Trump has called the deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council Dmitri Medvedev a "stupid man". The American leader gave such a characterization of the Russian politician on September 30, speaking to the top command staff of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Russia threatened us a little bit not too long ago. And I sent nuclear submarines, the deadliest weapons ever created, [to Russia's shores]. I did it because of his mention of the word "nuclear"... It [was mentioned] by a stupid man who works for [Putin]. And I sent a submarine or two to the coast of Russia. Just as a precaution. We can't let people throw that word around left and right," Donald Trump said, noting that the United States is "25 years ahead of Russia and China" in the development of submarine technology.
We will recall that on August 1, the American leader said that in connection with former Russian President Medvedev's "extremely provocative statements" on nuclear issues, he ordered "two nuclear submarines to be deployed in the appropriate areas in case these stupid and provocative statements turn out to be something more.
