Washington is embarking on a massive military modernization.
The U.S. is preparing a major military modernization amid increased cooperation between China and Russia and statements by U.S. leader Donald Trump that Beijing and Moscow, together with North Korea, are plotting against America.
According to U.S. Defense Chief Pete Hegseth on Fox News, the White House host ordered the Pentagon to "rebuild the U.S. military" and renew deterrence against China and Russia.
The secretary said the U.S. is not looking for war, but must have enough power to prevent it.
The Pentagon chief linked a military parade in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japan and the end of World War II, which saw troops marching and the latest military equipment on display, to "mistakes by the previous U.S. administration" that allowed Moscow and Beijing to gain ground.
Hegseth assures that modernization will affect everything: space, aviation, navy, submarine forces and long-range weapons. The minister pointed out that the US has capabilities that Beijing will not be able to replicate.
In particular, we are talking about the Iron Dome tactical missile defense system. Meanwhile, analysts in the West, analyzing meetings on the margins of the SCO summit, have concluded that China is seeking to create an alternative center of power. This is what is now forcing the U.S. side to seriously restructure its army.
