Peskov Explained Zelensky's Unexpected Invitation To Moscow

Is there any chance of a trilateral meeting involving U.S. President Donald Trump?

Kremlin speaker Dmitri Peskov explained why Russian dictator Vladimir Putin invited Ukraine's leader Vladimir Zelensky to Moscow, and said whether there was a chance of a trilateral meeting involving US President Donald Trump.

Peskov said Putin invited Zelensky to Moscow for talks, not "to accept capitulation."

"He [Zelensky] is being invited to Moscow to talk, not to capitulate," Peskov told reporters at the Eastern Economic Forum 2025, Izvestia reported.

When asked why not choose any other country, the Kremlin spokesman replied, "This is his [Putin's] suggestion."
