"Bayraktars" Returned After Defeating Russian Air Defense In Crimea

The Russians have lost the top echelon of radio intelligence.

The Russian Armed Forces have lost radar stations in occupied Crimea, opening the way for the use of Bayraktars, which have been almost "silent" since 2022. Without anti-aircraft systems on the peninsula, F-16 fighter jets will start working on Russian military targets.

The defense forces have taken to "weeding out" the Russian air defense in occupied Crimea, and this campaign has successes. This is according to X open data analyst Athene Noctua.

His information shows that the first consequence of the Russian Air Force's destruction of air defenses is an increase in the frequency of the Turkish Defense Forces' use of Bayraktar UAVs.

Another aspect of the effectiveness of the strikes on Crimea, the analyst calls the defeat of civilian radars, which also participated in the formation of the airspace map for Russian air defense, although they were targets of lower priority.

The third point Athene Noctua calls the fact that now strikes are carried out on radar installations located deep inside Russian territory. Hits have been recorded, but their exact results are still unknown, OSINTer added.

Analyst informs that the Russian Armed Forces in this direction have actually lost the highest echelon of radio reconnaissance, and the number of long-range SAMs, S-300 and S-400, is constantly decreasing, which complicates the situation for the Russians.

"Further deterioration of the Russian air defense may have very negative consequences for the Russian troops in the south of Kherson region. If properly equipped (with targeting containers), both F-16s and Mirage 2000s could conduct direct air support [of Ukrainian troops] against the Russians in the area," the analyst wrote.
