Von der Leyen and Vance discussed a united front of pressure on Moscow.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen held a telephone conversation with United States Vice President J.D. Vance on the topic of joint efforts on sanctions pressure on Russia.
The European Commission's chief spokeswoman Paula Pinto said this in a conversation with journalists, according to "European Pravda".
Vance and von der Leyen discussed joint sanctions against Russia.
"This conversation between President von der Leyen and Vice President JD Vance was about maintaining a united front on sanctions," Pinto reported.
She emphasized that "the more we coordinate our approach with partners, the more effective they (sanctions) are."
The European Commission's chief spokeswoman recalled the EU's joint efforts with the G7 to curb oil prices, "which are yielding results."
"We will continue to put pressure on Russia's military economy, to raise the cost for Russia of refusing to participate in peace talks, to finally bring President Putin to the negotiating table," she emphasized.
"This is what President von der Leyen also discussed in this conversation with the Vice President of the United States," Paula Pinho added.
