Russians Plan To Finally Demolish The Historic Center Of Mariupol

The occupiers are relocating people.

The Russian occupants are planning to demolish buildings in the historical center of Mariupol, and in their place they are going to build a new quarter.

Representatives of the Mariupol city council reported this on September 5 .

"The occupation authorities are preparing to wipe the historical center of Mariupol off the face of the earth. The so-called Ministry of Construction of the DNR has presented a visualization of the development project of almost 59 hectares of territory bounded by the streets: from the south by Mitropolitskaya St., from the east by Torgovaya St., from the north by Shevchenko Blvd. and from the west by Kuindzhi St.", they said.

According to Mariupol City Council, all houses in the historical part of the city will be demolished by the Russians.

"Instead of restoration and preservation of cultural heritage and historical appearance of the city, the occupiers plan to build 53 apartment buildings, a school and parks. The project promises to be realized by 2035. The first stage will already start this year," they said.

According to the Maripol City Council, the first area to be demolished by the occupiers will be the territory of the factory "Zhovten" and houses located between Kuindzhi, Mitropolitskaya, Grecheskaya and Gotfeyskaya Streets.

The occupiers promise to "relocate" the residents of the neighborhood.
