Tokayev specified that the agency will be headed by one of the deputy prime ministers.

He said the government should "ensure the total introduction of artificial intelligence to modernize all spheres of the economy."

Tokayev also instructed to speed up the adoption of the Digital Code.

The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not exist as a separate body. However, within the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, a Committee of Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development was established in July 2024. This committee is responsible for the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of artificial intelligence and the creation of conditions for its development.

In January, Tokayev called for the expansion of the country's cryptocurrency infrastructure. He noted the need to adapt to the new global technological mode, which includes the widespread use of cryptocurrencies.
