Another Mass Protest Took Place In Belgrade

Thousands of students shouted slogans against President Vucic.

Thousands of student protesters shouted slogans against Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at a rally in downtown Belgrade on Monday, September 8, accusing police of brutality during recent anti-government demonstrations.

According to AP.

As noted, protesters demanded punishment for police officers responsible for excessive use of force during months of unrest, including allegedly threatening to rape a female student.

Student Nikolina Sinjelic, who was detained last month during the protests, said she was "beaten and sexually harassed" during her detention.

"They (the government) beat us because they are afraid of us," Sinjelic said in a speech in front of the headquarters of a special police unit whose commander she accused of rape threats.

The crowd wildly cheered Sinjelic's speech, chanting "He is finished," referring to Serbia's president.
