The Reuters publication learned the location of the strike.

Late in the evening of January 8, Russian occupiers struck a medium-range ballistic missile "Oreshnik" on the territory of Lviv region.

Official information about the location of the missile hit was not available - at night it was reported to hit a critical infrastructure facility. But Reuters has learned the location of the strike.

One senior Ukrainian official said on the grounds of anonymity that the missile allegedly hit a shop of a state-owned enterprise. The strike caused "minor punctures to concrete structures" and created craters in a forested area.

The SBU said in return that Russia aimed to destroy civilian infrastructure in the region amid "rapidly deteriorating weather conditions."

The Russian statement said the enemy used the missile to hit energy infrastructure and a factory where drones used in the attack on Putin's residence were made. The attack was called a response to the attack on Putin's residence, which both Ukraine and U.S. intelligence denied.

Ukraine's European allies called the strike, which came near the border with Poland, an attempt to intimidate them. Analysts spoken to by reporters, however, believe the strike was intended to intimidate Ukraine at a crucial stage of negotiations to end the war.

At the time the news was published, information about the hit on the shop floor of a state-owned enterprise had not been commented on by official government or military commanders.
