Verkhovna Rada Dismisses Malyuk From The Post Of SBU Head

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has dismissed Vasyl Malyuk from the post of head of the Security Service of Ukraine, the parliamentary deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported.
About 235 deputies voted in favor. This is the last resignation for Tuesday, January 13, the nardeputy noted.
The Verkhovna Rada earlier dismissed Mikhail Fedorov from the post of head of the Ministry of Tsifra and Deputy Prime Minister, and Denis Shmygal from the post of head of the Defense Ministry.
On January 13, the Verkhovna Rada Defense Committee supported the dismissal of Vasyl Malyuk at the second attempt. On January 12, the first vote of the Rada committee on Maliuk's dismissal took place, which did not support the president's proposal.
On January 9, Verkhovna Rada speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk announced that the document on Maliuk's dismissal had been received by the Rada.
On January 5, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky met with Vasyl Maliuk and announced that he was dismissing him from the post of SBU head.
Malyuk then confirmed that he was resigning from his post, but said that he would remain in the SBU system to implement "world-class asymmetric special operations" that would continue to inflict maximum harm on Russia.
On the same day, President Zelensky signed a decree appointing the head of the Special Operations Center A of the Security Service of Ukraine, Evgeniy Khmara, as acting SBU chairman.
