According to the Ukrainian president, the Iranian regime does not deserve to exist

Ukraine has expressed support for the participants of anti-government protests in Iran and condemned the current Iranian regime's repression of its own people.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in an evening address on Tuesday, January 13.

He noted that Ukraine fully supports the position of the United States on Iran.

"The regime that has existed for so many years and killed so many people does not deserve to exist," Zelensky emphasized.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also issued a statement regarding the events in Iran. There called on the Iranian authorities to renounce the use of violence against protesters - and stated that "regimes that ignore the needs and suffering of their citizens inevitably bear political, legal and moral responsibility for their actions."

U.S. President Donald Trump earlier called on Iranians to continue protests and seize institutions in the country. In a post on the social network Truth Social, he noted that "help is on the way."

Trump also said that Washington was considering "very tough" options for dealing with Iran amid mass protests and the deaths of their participants - in particular, he did not rule out the use of military force.
