A series of powerful explosions rang out in the city.
The night of January 14 was turbulent in Russia's Rostov-on-Don, as a series of powerful explosions were heard amid a drone attack. A ballistic missile was also detected above the city, "Focus" wrote.
The attack in Rostov raised a fire in the territory of one of the industrial enterprises. This was reported by Russian media outlet Izvestia, citing an official statement from local authorities.
"Buildings of an industrial enterprise have burst into flames as a result of falling UAV debris in Rostov-on-Don," said city head Alexander Skryabin.
In the meantime, monitoring channels reported that a ballistic missile was tentatively detected over Rostov.

Subsequently, it was reported that a local Empils factory in Rostov was probably hit. This is a company that produces decorative paint and zinc oxide. Tentatively, oil tanks on the premises are burning there, but Russian authorities have not officially confirmed this data at the time of publication.

Russian authorities later reported that residential buildings in Rostov were also hit by the attack. It is reported that allegedly debris from the downed UAV flew into a building at the 14th floor level, and a fire broke out on the spot. Neighboring apartments were also damaged.
Monitoring channels claim that the damaged residential buildings in Rostov are the consequences of the work of Russian air defense and REB.
Information about the consequences is being clarified. At the time of publication, there was no official confirmation of the strikes on the facilities of the Empils plant.
