India Has Urged Its Citizens To Leave Iran

The day before, Trump made the same recommendation for Americans and U.S. allies.

India has appealed to its citizens to leave Iran. Such a recommendation is contained in a statement by the Indian Embassy in Tehran, which was published on social networking site X.

"In continuation of the recommendations issued by the Government of India on January 5, 2026, and in view of the evolving situation in Iran, Indian citizens currently in Iran (students, pilgrims, businessmen and tourists) are advised to leave Iran by any available means of transportation, including commercial flights," the statement reads.

The embassy urged Indians to exercise caution, avoid protest or demonstration sites and keep an eye on local media.

The day before, President Donald Trump, as well as Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, Japan, Germany and France issued the same recommendation for Americans and US allies.
