And appointed him head of Vitebsk region.
Lukashenko appointed a new chairman of Vitsebsk Regional Executive Committee, reported the dictator's press service.
The new head of the region is Alexandr Hornozhnik, who served as Ambassador of Belarus to Russia.
Reminder, Hornozhnik presented a report to Lukashenko as ambassador on January 5. At the meeting, the dictator noted that the rate of growth of exports to this country was not observed, called it "the main direction" and outlined the issues that remain unresolved.
Lukashenko has also repeatedly criticized the leadership of Vitebsk region. On April 21, 2025, he demanded that officials in Vitebsk region be put in their place and promised that Alexander Subbotin, Rogozhnik's predecessor, would "not walk on his feet" but "on his hands or head."
