Belarusians and Iranians are sailing in the same boat.
Benjamin, one of the participants in a rally organized by the Iranian diaspora in Lithuania and held today in the center of Vilnius, told the "Basta!" Telegram channel about the situation in his home country and thanked for the support and solidarity.
"We appreciate everyone who, no matter where they are from, is the voice of the Iranian people. Iranians are struggling in the streets despite the internet shutdown, the lack of video content, the lack of voice communication. Phone lines, landlines, cell phones, cell phone service, internet - everything is down right now. There's a total blackout in the country. A digital blackout. They even shut down the electricity.
People who go out on the streets after 5:00 p.m. are getting shot. This is a holocaust. This is the genocide that's going on in Iran. The media is reporting 12,000 dead, 12,000 killed. The wounded can't even get to hospitals because they're not being treated there. There are news reports of people, these brutal soldiers of the regime, going into hospitals and killing the wounded.
There are videos, footage of body bags, thousands of body bags in one place. If this is happening in big cities like Tehran, you can imagine what is happening in small cities. You can imagine what is happening in the villages.
I ask you to become the voice of the Iranians. Become the voice of the Iranian people who are fighting the same enemy that supports the regime in Russia, the same enemy that supports the regime in Belarus. We are all fighting the same enemy. We are all in the same boat. Be our voices, support us. Thank you very much," said the participant of the action.
