In 1952 he commanded an anti-Partisan group in Maladziechna.
On September 4, 2026 it was 100 years since the birth of Yanki (Ivan Andreevich) Filistovich, a leader of the Belarusian anti-Soviet movement, President of the Rada of the Belarusian People's Republic and one of the leaders of the Belarusian Non-Leftist Organization of the Youth in France, publishes "Radio Racyja".
The importance of this post for the present-day Belarusian memory is stated by the historian of the Belarusian People's Republic history and caclector Jakau Badivich:
- A figure of great magnitude. And it would be a heroic post for the country. I think the most significant was his detention in Belarus. He gave out an hour book, which was used in the camps for interlopers, who lived in Belarus during the first hours of their travel emigration. Filistovich was committed to the Belarusian cause, and was not afraid to heed all these communist, propaganda slogans that came from the court.
Yanka Filistovich was born on September 14, 1926 in the village of Pantsichy (now Vileysk district); he was a leader of the Belarusian emigration life in the Western Europe. In 1951 Filistovich returned to Belarus: he was arrested from an American airplane with the aim of organizing patriotic settlements to combat the civilian regime. In 1952 he commanded a partisan group in Maladziechanchyna and was authorized by the Ministry of State Security of the BSSR. The trial took place in 1953, and on October 22, 1953 Filistovich was deported.
