Belarusian athlete Stepan Popov became a silver medalist of the Open European Championship in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the Master 3 category.
The Master 3 category includes participants aged from 41 to 45 years old. The athlete competed in the middleweight and purple belt categories.
"He fought four fights: three of them were won by painful holds, in the fourth one he gave his all until the last second. I had three chances to finish with painful holds, but I didn't have enough strength - only character was left. Thanks to everyone who helped me to prepare and come here. This was our way, our work," Stepan Popov shared.
Stepan Popov is a world and European sambo champion, a gold medalist of the European Games. In 2020, he stood up for the Belarusian people.
