Ukrainian troops have recently advanced in the Kupyansk and Pokrovsk directions. This was reported by analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in their new report.
They drew their conclusions by analyzing recent geolocation videos. For example, according to them, footage published on January 15 shows that Ukrainian troops have recently advanced north of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region.
They also reported that on January 16 and 17, Russian troops attacked in Kupyansk itself, northeast of Kupyansk near Two-Year-Old and Krasnyi Pervoye, east of Kupyansk in the direction of Petropavlovka, Podol and Kucherovka, and southeast of Kupyansk in the direction of Peschanoye and Kurilovka.
In addition, analysts citing geolocation video footage from January 17 say the Ukrainian Defense Forces recently advanced northwest of Svitliy (east of Pokrovsk) in Donetsk Oblast.
They reported that on January 16 and 17, Russian forces attacked near and within Pokrovsk itself, northwest of Pokrovsk near Hryshynoye, north of Pokrovsk near Rodynskoye and Belitskoye, northeast of Pokrovsk near Sukhetskoye, east of Pokrovsk near Mirnograd and Rivne, and southwest of Pokrovsk near Kotlinoye, Udachnoye, and Molodetskoye.
According to ISW, Ukrainian forces have recently advanced or at least hold positions in the tactical area of Dobropillya - southwest of Dorozhnoye.
