Valentino Garavani has passed away at the age of 93.

Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani, founder of the Valentino fashion house, has died at the age of 93, Women's Wear Daily reported. He passed away on Monday, January 19, at his home in Rome.

Garavani's farewell will be held on January 21 and 22, and on Friday, January 23, he will be buried in the Church of Our Lady of the Great (Santa Maria Maggiore).

Valentino Garavani was born in the town of Voghera in northern Italy in 1932. After leaving school he studied at the Academy of Arts in Milan and at the School of Haute Couture Syndicate in Paris, interning with French fashion designers Jean Desse and Guy Laroche.
