It Became Known How Many Oreshnik Missiles Are In Service With The Russian Federation

Intelligence reports have been released.

Russia has no more than 3-4 Oreshnik missiles in service. However, in 2026, Russia wants to put them into serial production to produce five or more units per year.

The first deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Oleg Lugovsky said this, "Ukrinform" reports.

"According to our estimates, Russia has no more than 3-4 such missiles. We know that the Russian Defense Ministry plans to put Oreshnik into serial production in 2026 and acquire the capability to produce five or more such missiles per year," he said.

At the same time, Lugovskyy said that "Oreshnik has more political than military content." He said it is primarily a tool to intimidate Ukraine's European partners.

"And it has questionable combat effectiveness. "Oreshnik is built on technologies of the last century and requires constant technical support and prompt elimination of various malfunctions," he said.

He added that the SVR cooperates with intelligence agencies of partner countries on Oreshnik to obtain a common objective picture and avoid misinformation from Russia and Belarus.
