Zelensky: The Date Of The End Of The War Depends On Specific Security Guarantees

Kiev seeks to fix a specific date in the treaty.

Specific security guarantees for Ukraine can create conditions for determining a clear date for the end of the war, which continues not only on Ukrainian territory, but also poses a threat to the whole of Europe.

As RBC-Ukraine reports, President Vladimir Zelensky said this during his visit to Lithuania.

According to him, bilateral security guarantees with the United States are key for Ukraine. The relevant document is already ready, and Ukraine expects partners' readiness to give it the proper status for signing.

"The document is 100% ready, we expect partners' readiness regarding the date and place when we will sign it. Then the document will go to the United States Congress and the Ukrainian parliament for ratification, according to our agreements," Zelensky said.

The second element of security guarantees, the president named European guarantees, particularly within the framework of the Coalition of the willing, as well as Ukraine's future membership in the European Union.

Separately, Zelensky noted the importance of economic security guarantees and clear European integration deadlines. According to him, Ukraine will be technically ready to open all negotiation clusters with the EU as early as the first half of 2026, and fully - in 2027.

The President emphasized that Ukraine seeks to fix a specific date in the treaty on the end of the war, so that all parties, including the aggressor, will be obliged to comply with the agreements and so that the process will not be blocked in the future.
