Maduro Has Declared A State Of Emergency In Venezuela

The dictator called for "mobilization" in a panic.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has signed a decree declaring a state of emergency in the country. This was announced by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry. Also there called to mobilize to defeat "imperialist aggression", writes UNIAN.

The statement noted that "Venezuela rejects, denies and condemns before the international community the serious military aggression committed by the current U.S. government."

The agency believes that the U.S. goal is to "seize Venezuela's strategic resources, particularly its oil and minerals."

Venezuela's Foreign Ministry added that Maduro "signed and ordered the implementation of a decree declaring a state of emergency throughout the country to protect the rights of the population, the full functioning of republican institutions and to immediately proceed to armed struggle."

On January 3, U.S. President Donald Trump launched an operation against Venezuela, with powerful explosions rumbling in the capital Caracas. CBS News journalist Jennifer Jacobs quoted U.S. officials as saying that Trump had ordered strikes on targets inside Venezuela, including military installations. Venezuelan armored vehicles have appeared on the streets and are pulling up to the presidential palace. Footage of strikes on Caracas, probably with Tomahawk missiles, is circulating online.
