The funds should help protect and rebuild the country.
Ukraine could get 2.5 billion pounds from frozen Russian assets from the sale of English soccer club Chelsea.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky following talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"We discussed the need for a fair solution regarding the frozen funds from the sale of Chelsea. This is 2.5 billion pounds, which can and should significantly help to protect lives and rebuild in Ukraine after all the Russian strikes," Zelensky opined.
We will recall that after Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine in 2022, Roman Abramovich sold the club for 2.5 billion.
The Ukrainian president also added that he discussed with Starmer details of preparations for a leaders' meeting to be held soon.
