Trump Predicts The Collapse Of The Dictatorship In Cuba

The tyranny on the island survived only because of Venezuela.

US President Donald Trump said that the Cuban government could collapse soon, writes Politico.

"Cuba looks like it's ready to fall. I don't know if they can hold on," Trump said.

At the same time, he rejected the suggestion that his administration could use the U.S. military to hasten the collapse of the Cuban government, explaining that Havana's main economic donor remains Venezuela.

"Cuba survives only because of Venezuela," Trump said.

As the publication notes, many US presidents over the decades have predicted the fall of the socialist system in Cuba, but it survived even the collapse of the USSR. Nevertheless, Trump's words made it clear that his administration is not just expecting regime change in several countries at once, but is openly counting on it - even amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Venezuela itself.
