Maduro Was Taken To A New York Court Under Escort

A hearing in his case will be held today in Manhattan federal court.

The former Venezuelan president has already been taken out of a detention center in Brooklyn. The convoy is now headed to Manhattan federal court where his case is being heard, Fox News reports.

Maduro is charged with narco-terrorism, weapons trafficking and conspiracy to import cocaine. The hearing will be presided over by District Judge Elvin Hellerstein and is expected to begin at noon local time (8 p.m. MST).

Footage broadcast by Fox News shows Maduro being brought under escort to a helicopter pad in Manhattan and placed in an armored car. His wife Celia Flores is not in the video.
