Nebenzya Threw A Tantrum At UN Security Council Meeting On Venezuela
Vasily Nebenzya

Russia's post representative to the UN called the capture of Lukashenko's friend by the U.S. "robbery".

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya has said that the US actions to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro are "robbery" and a "crime".

"We call on the US leadership to immediately release the legally elected president [Maduro] of the independent state and his wife <....> There is and can be no justification for the crime cynically committed by the United States in Caracas," the Russian diplomat said at a UN Security Council meeting on Venezuela.

He said the "brigandage" against Maduro was for many "a harbinger of a return to the era of disenfranchisement."

Nebenzia emphasized that any contradictions between Venezuela and the United States must be resolved through dialogue, and the world community cannot allow Washington to self-assert itself in the role of "some kind of supreme judge."
