The US president promised that American defense companies will speed up the production of weapons for allies in order to reduce multi-year deadlines for the delivery of planes and helicopters.

This Donald Trump said on Tuesday, January 6, at a meeting with congressmen from the Republican Party.

The president said that now the production of high-precision weapons takes too long, because of which allies have to wait for years. He cited the example of F-35 fighter jets, which take too long to produce, and India's order for 68 Apache helicopters, which has yet to be fulfilled.

"No one has the quality of our weapons. The only problem is that we are not producing it fast enough. We will start doing it much faster. We will be strict with the manufacturing companies. We have the best weapons in the world. But it takes too long to produce them. Including for allies. If allies want to buy weapons, they have to wait four years for an airplane and five years for a helicopter. We will not let that happen again," Donald Trump stressed.

He added that he will now strictly control defense companies to avoid delays in the delivery of military equipment.

The new requirements will include accelerated production of planes, helicopters and other weapons so that allies receive them on time.
