The coalition of the "resolute" is seriously discussing security guarantees for Ukraine, including the introduction of British and French troops once the ceasefire begins. But this is pointless. Putin does not agree to any truce and will never agree to any truce, especially if NATO troops enter Ukraine after that.

The decision to introduce such troops should be made not after the truce, but in order to achieve it: simply give Putin an ultimatum - if you do not stop the war, we will start the introduction of troops on February 1. Then he may get scared and stop, but not before.

This has already happened in history - during the Soviet-Finnish war. On March 2, 1940, French Prime Minister Daladier announced his readiness to send 50 thousand French soldiers and 100 bombers to protect Finland; in parallel, Great Britain decided to send 50 more British warplanes. And already on March 12 the war ended: the puppet pro-Soviet "government" of Kuusinen was thrown away by Stalin along with the idea of joining Finland to the USSR.

For the sake of justice, it should be noted that after the threat of French-British intervention in Finland disappeared with the collapse of France in June 1940, Stalin returned to the idea of seizing the north-western neighbor. But that's another story.
