Belavia Launched Regular Flights To Israel For The First Time In Four Years

The first plane left Minsk for Tel Aviv this morning.

The first Belavia flight from Minsk to Tel Aviv left for Israel in the morning of January 8, reports "Zerkalo".

Passengers departed from Minsk to Tel Aviv at 7.10. Before that, the Jewish music ensemble "Shir" performed at the check-in desks to mark the opening of the flight.

The flights will be operated twice a week, on Thursday and Sunday:

flight from Minsk - at 07.10, arrival in Tel Aviv - at 12.20;

return flight from Tel Aviv - at 13.15, arrival in Minsk - at 20.40.

Passengers are provided with hot meals, Tickets cost from 671 rubles one way and from 1327 rubles round trip on the tariff "Light". The flight duration is 6 hours and 10 minutes.

It became known earlier that the sale of tickets for direct flights from Tel Aviv to Minsk from February 2026 was opened by the Israeli airline Arkia.

Reminder, this is the first regular flight of Belavia to Israel since May 2022 - the country's authorities then stopped allowing Belarusian planes against the background of European and American sanctions. From Minsk to Tel Aviv, passengers mostly flew via Baku or Tbilisi. An exception was made in October 2023 - for an evacuation flight after a major attack of Hamas militants on Israel.

September 11, the U.S. announced that it was lifting sanctions against Belavia. After that, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Ministry of Finance of this country granted Belarus a license for transactions involving the Belarusian national air carrier.

The airline remains under EU sanctions.
