UAVs Bombed A Military Airfield And A Power Plant In Southern Russia

Details have come to light.

On the night of January 9, 2026, drones attacked military and strategic facilities in Russia's Rostov region and Krasnodar Krai.

This was written by Dialog.UA after monitoring Russian media. According to preliminary information, the Rostov region was hit by a power plant located in Novocherkassk, and the Krasnodar region was hit by a military airfield near the town of Primorsko-Akhtarsk. In any case, this is what local residents report.

The governors of the Rostov region and Krasnodar Krai have not yet commented on the situation in their regions. The central Russian authorities are also silent.

It should be noted that the Novocherkasskaya GRES and the airfield in Primorsko-Akhtarsk are strategic and military facilities, so they are a legitimate target for the AFU (from the airfield in Primorsko-Akhtarsk the Russians launch "Shaheds" at Ukraine).

By the way, the AFU has previously struck these facilities. For example, the thermal power plant in Novocherkassk was "visited" by Ukrainian drones back in March 2024. Local residents heard at least ten explosions at that time. Fires were recorded on the territory of the power plant. There were problems with electricity in the city and surrounding areas. The authorities of the Rostov region recognized that in Novocherkassk as a result of "the fall of UAV debris" damaged infrastructure. Later this thermal power plant was also attacked by drones.

The military airfield in Primorsko-Akhtarsk was attacked by drones on the night of August 2, 2025. Numerous explosions were recorded. As a result of this attack, the storage and launching sites of the Shaheds were destroyed.
