The geolocation videos released on February 8 may indicate the probable advance of Russian units west of the international border toward the western part of Chugunovka earlier. At the same time, Russian military bloggers claimed counterattacks by Ukrainian forces near Chugunovka on February 8-9.

The speaker of the AFU's United Forces, Colonel Viktor Tregubov, confirmed on February 9 that the enemy had tried to break through to the settlement the previous day, but the attempt was repulsed.

"Tregubov said that the Russian troops continue to look for gaps in the defensive lines of the Ukrainian troops, using unfavorable weather conditions to advance in small groups," - stated in the material.

The speaker stressed that the invaders do not stop trying to create a buffer zone along the international border in the direction of Bolshoi Burluk.
