Trump: Regime Change In Iran Would Be The Best Thing That Could Happen

The US President reminded that the world's largest aircraft carrier is coming soon.

US President Donald Trump says regime change in Iran "would be the best thing that could happen."

The US president said this after visiting troops at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, he was quoted by Sky News.

Trump was asked if he would like to see a change of government in Iran, to which he replied, "It seems like that would be the best thing that could happen."

"For 47 years, all they've done is talk and talk and talk. And while they're talking, we're losing a lot of lives. People are losing legs, arms, faces. This has been going on for a very long time," the US president said.

Trump declined to name who he believes should replace the current Iranian regime, saying only that "there are people".

He also confirmed that the world's largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R Ford, is being sent to the Middle East in case talks between the US and Iran fail to produce an agreement.

"If we don't reach an agreement, we're going to need it. It will be sailing shortly," Trump revealed.
