Sibiga: Ukraine Not Involved In Assassination Attempt On General Alekseev In Moscow
Andrei Sibiga

Ukraine's foreign minister responded to Lavrov.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga has said that Kiev was not involved in the assassination attempt on the first deputy head of the Russian General Staff's GRU, Vladimir Alekseev.

This is reported by Reuters.

In particular, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused Ukraine of assassinating the general. He argues it is allegedly aimed at sabotaging peace talks.

In a comment to Reuters, however, Ukrainian Minister Andriy Sibiga said that "Kiev had nothing to do with the attack."

We recall that yesterday in Moscow on February 6, an unidentified man several times shot Russian Defense Ministry Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev.

According to Russian media, the general was shot in the back, after which the attacker fled the scene. The incident took place in the general's apartment building on Volokolamskoye highway.

After the incident, Alexeyev was taken to a Moscow hospital, where he was in intensive care. The investigation believes that the general could have been shot by a woman who was waiting for him in the entrance of his house.
