The US plans to convene the first official meeting of President Donald Trump's "Peace Council" as early as February 19. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Washington.

Axios reports Axios.

What will be at the first "Peace Council"

According to Axios, the White House wants to use the meeting to implement the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and raise funds for reconstruction.

"This will be the first 'Peace Council' meeting and fundraising conference for the reconstruction of Gaza," the U.S. official said.

The council currently has 27 members and is chaired by Trump. On Friday, February 6, the White House began contacting dozens of countries to invite their leaders and discuss logistical issues.

"Nothing has been confirmed yet, but the administration is planning the event and has begun checking which leaders will be able to attend," a source said

The publication added that plans for the summit were in the early stages and could change.
