Budanov: Moscow Miscalculated

The head of the Ukrainian presidential office has explained what Russia wanted to achieve by strikes on the energy sector.

The aggressor country Russia expected that the energy crisis in Ukraine would provoke social unrest, but miscalculated.

This was stated by the head of the Presidential Office (OP) Kirill Budanov in an interview with journalists.

"This is a rather interesting aspect. Society, for all its heterogeneity, has endured. We have never had these mass riots, which the Russian Federation was counting on," Budanov said.

He pointed out that there were no significant manifestations of social tension against the current government. Everyone, the head of the OP stressed, realizes that there is no electricity after the missile strike.

"The missile strike is coming from the territory of the Russian Federation. So here they miscalculated," Budanov said.
