On the extortion case.
Z-war correspondent Emil Muzaffarov has been detained in Moscow in an extortion case. This is reported by VCHK-OGPU, Staraya Ploshchad and Z-blogger Roman Kirillov, citing sources. There is no official confirmation of this information yet, noted by Novaya Gazeta Europa.
The accusation against him is that he transferred money raised for the SWO to the account of his charitable foundation.
VChK-OGPU and Staraya Ploshchad write that the case "involves" the informer Vitaly Borodin, who suggested that Muzaffarov "stop criticizing Umar Kremlev." According to the channels, Muzaffarov went on hunger strike after his detention.
ASTRA notes that a few days ago Muzaffarov published a video from the State Duma. In it, he accused the Russian bookmaker Parimatch of ties with "scum who finance the Ukrainian Armed Forces," and also claimed Umar Kremlev's ties to the company.
Umar Kremlev (former surname Lutfulloev) is the president of the International Boxing Association. In recent years, thanks to his friendship with the head of the presidential security service Alexei Rubizhny, he has gained possession of several large assets. These include the nationalized car dealer Rolf, the construction company Ava Group and the Sports Lotteries enterprise.
